Mom Group: Hike it Baby Hampton Roads

Want to get outside with your kid?  Want to meet other parents who love being active?  Want a community of caring Moms and Dads?

Then you need to check-out Hike it Baby Hampton Roads.

What is it:  Hike it Baby Hampton Roads is a non-profit organization
that meets at local trails (urban and nature) and take the littles out for adventure.

The range from fast paced walks for the parents, to kid-led hikes, to even a toddle-waddle led by the toddlers.  Hike it Baby has something for every family.

The group meets all over Hampton Roads — from Windsor Castle out in Smithfield, to First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach, to Williamsburg Farmers Market.

Hike it Baby International has a very important mantra – “Leave no Mommy Behind”.  And they follow it too.  Whether you need to stop to change a diaper, feed or handle a melt down, the whole group stops and patiently waits.

Each Hike begins with a welcome circle where the Hike lead explains the Hike.  Then everyone goes around and introduces themselves and their kids.

How do I Join:  Visit Hike it Baby and find the Hampton Roads chapter.  You will need to sign-up and fill out a waiver.

There is a $10 a year fee to cover cost, but you do get a free 90 day membership to try out the group.  In my 3 months of maternity leave I must have done 30+ hikes, and was able to meet amazing people, and get out of the house.  Most the people I met I am still friends with now and keep in touch with regularly.

Why Hampton Roads Moms Love it:  I spent a lot of time with Hike it Baby during maternity leave and found them to be a beautiful groups of parents who actually really do care for each other.  When you show up to a hike whether it be your 1st of 500th, someone will go out of their way to include you.

Please, check them out, you won’t regret it!
