Things to Do: Bluebird Gap Farm
Over by Hampton’s busy Coliseum area, Bluebird Gap Farm is a pleasant oasis that makes for a fun family adventure!
This FREE farm and petting zoo is a favorite place of my toddler’s.
Wandering through the farm, you can admire the peacocks, watch chickens and turkeys, and have the opportunity to feed some of the animals.
There’s cows, horses, ducks, owls, goats, llamas and alpacas. My son of course wanted to pet each of them and then yell “Moo” or “Quack” or whatever the appropriate animal sound was.
If your toddler is learning their animals and sounds, Bluebird Gap Farm is such a fun way for them to get some hands on learning!
I always enjoy strolling through the lovely garden, even though it’s not my son’s favorite.
There’s also a playground and picnic area if your littles (or you) need to take a break.
We went on a rainy day and it was still pleasant to walk through, but I do recommend rain boots! My toddler had a blast puddle jumping, which made the fun visit that much more enjoyable for him! I on the other hand, may have cried and then kissed my bottle of laundry detergent after seeing how much mud was on him.
Also, we did get to see baby geese. So if you are hoping for a chance to “aw” over baby animals, this is the perfect time of year to visit!
You can also have birthday parties and group events at Bluebird Gap Farm, so be sure to contact them if interested.
Bluebird Gap Farm is worth the stop in if you’re looking for something fun and free to do this weekend with your kids!
Bluebird Gap Farm’s hours are Wednesday – Monday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are closed Tuesdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
